I have been playfully exploring the shapes and colors of sound since I was a little girl. It has always been the touchstone through my life; the ups and downs, the clear and the difficult. And it has always been about connecting to a deeper place in myself, pulling from the inside out, my heart of hearts. Whether I feel relaxed or stressed, joy or sadness, peace or pain; exploring the nuances and possibilities in sound, emotion, and creativity I am taken to spaces within myself that allow me to feel human again.

Our voice is very much the barometer for our body. And we can use our voice to meet us where we are at and land more deeply in ourselves. All through the honesty and grace of singing and sounding. Allowing for all the layers and vulnerabilities of being seen, of being human, to arise and have a place.

My teaching and guidance is rooted through my own path of healing through singing and healing trauma in my body/nervous system. Using my voice as a tool of healing; body/mind/spirit and sharing these gifts with others is part of why I am here on this planet. I have known both complete freedom in singing, and complete stuckness and constriction. I have transformed deep pain and dysregulation in my body through singing and sounding. And it’s an ongoing practice as I continue to heal and deepen as a human in this body.

In 2014 completed a functional voice training that is process oriented, holistically based, and scientifically grounded called Somatic Voicework™, The LoVetri Method. Through this holistic approach, artistry and expression meets vocal health and nervous system regulation. I am also currently in the training to become a certified somatic experiencing practitioner.

I received my BFA from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in New York, specializing in jazz and improvisation, and then went on to receive my MM in Vocal Performance at Longy School of Music of Bard, specializing in classical voice and opera. Before I studied in New York, I sang the devotional vocal music of North India which gave me a unique understanding of the beauty and emotion inherent in scales and melodies.
